Lostwithiel Medical Practice - Extension

An approval for a much needed extension of Lostwithiel Medical Practice, a simple structure that will allow the surgery to expand which can only be good news for the residents of Lostwithiel.

We proposed a sensitively designed development which takes account of the important national and international land designations and planning policy.

The conservation officer insisted on ‘easy slate’ which is a fibre cement slate. However the recommendations suggested would cost about 10% of the total set build budget. So we argued that with this extension to the doctors surgery there is minimal opportunity to have an outstanding design. This is a functional building providing a much-needed service. We considered it was tucked discretely behind a high stone wall and would not be seen from the surrounding conservation area. We respectively requested that the planning officer and decision maker make a balanced decision between need and the impact on the character of the conservation area and allow us to use the proposed rubberised roof covering.

Our client was very happy with our hard work and the approval.

Thank you Angela, We are very grateful for all your help.

If I knew how I would put the "Thank you " emoji here..
